Momma comes for Easter

Oh, how I love when my momma comes to visit. 

Gives me new life.

And my girls are just as obsessed with her.

....and I think my husband is too. :)

 Easter is such a peaceful holiday. 

We had a beautiful day. 

This man is one good egg- no pun intended. 

I love california, but california weather hates my hair. Fuzzhead.

Curly hair = curse & blessing.

I dream of long, thick, shiny, corn silk hair though.

In the next life,

 along with teeth that have never had a cavity.

Emerald

2013 - I own you! 

1. I'm turning 30!!!! and i'm not even sad about it.
2. I got tickets to see Ellen 2 days before I turn 30
3. Emerald is the color of the year, which just so happens to be the birthstone of yours truly.
4. My husband completes law school.
5. I started Ivorykate, and am absolutely loving meeting all my redonk, amazing new friends since starting this little adventure!

2013 is the year of the luck, I just know it!
its going to change what the number 13 traditionally stands for, and blow it out of the water with radicalness<--- yes, that's a word...on my blog at least.

I'm full on digging the emerald fad that's creeping in. 

I'm one of the crazy lovers of the rampant MINT trend like the best of them, and I tend to rock it more days than not out of habit now it seems.

But we need a break from it (or at least some variety with it) for a minute, right?! 

Great substitution while staying in the same color family if you ask moi.


I dated a kid in college that called me "green girl" before we even met because he said every time he saw me, before we were introduced, I was wearing green. True story.  I was just preparing for 2013 even back in the day :) It's my year, I tell ya! I was born to live 2013 and rock its socks off.

I'm embracing this deliciousness with open arms and an open wallet.

I found my long, loose pleat maxi skirt at TJ Maxx.

Maybe in my Easter basket?

If I could eat felt I would

Can you even stand how cute felt is, and all the ENDLESS possibles it possesses?! 

The colors and the products that you can make out of felt just make me want to eat it. Quite possibly because it resembles candy (like the picture below just looks like one big pile of gum balls.. salivating).. and if you know anything about me, you know candy is on my -top 5 most cherished things in life- list.

I'm making my own felt balls and garland this week! 

and I'm going to start by attempting THIS tutorial. 

If you have any other tutorials you've used.. you best be sharing with me! 

P.S. Wool is kind of hard to find in stores.. especially colored felt. If you want to order some, I'm thinking about ordering it from here or here.

family pictures.. dun dun dun

Those dreaded, blasted family picture outfits!!
or matching Easter outfits for that matter.
Either way, it'll put you in an insane asylum if not planned in advance.

The phase "family pictures" puts my sweet husband instantly into ORBIT.

Rightfully so.
 I'm a bit insane in the membrane when it comes to this annual day.

I say annual day, because he might leave me if I drug him through my madness of finding the perfect outfit for the whole fam damily more than 1x a year.

I'm no photographer, but when I personally look at a picture and fall in love with it, its almost always because of the colors of the outfits. Specifically the treats they've put with their outfits. 

ie: accessories

Even if you wear plain white outfits.. the picture can still look crazy amazing if you have the right pops of accessories.

Here are a few combos that tickle me pink.. and blue, and green, and red.. and ok, I'm done.
